Our Volunteers Rock!
Volunteers bring their energy, interests, talents, and commitment to the Museum.
They help in many ways, and are the reason the Museum is able to offer so many services to the community.
Become a docent to welcome and orient Museum visitors - you’ll meet people from all over the U.S. and abroad.
Assist with the image archive, artifact archives, events or join other volunteers to help create exhibits.
Get your exercise as you participate in maintenance and construction projects! Many of the Museum buildings are over a century old and require much attention and care.

Your interest, participation and financial support are fundamental to our future!
Your contribution will ensure future generations will be able to learn about San Juan Island’s colorful past, a history that is quickly vanishing from memory.
Maintaining buildings that are over a century old, caring for thousands of artifacts and sharing the Museum’s resources with the community is costly. Admission fees, memberships and grants provide only a fraction of the monies necessary for the Museum’s operation.
Donations and sponsorships can contribute to a new roof for an aging building, fund a new exhibit or upgrade technology. A small gift can purchase special supplies for Museum projects or support an event.
