Resources

Begin your research at the Etta Egeland Resource Center. Named in honor of one of our founders, Etta Lightheart Egeland, who was still conducting tours into her 100s, before she passed in 2002 at the age of 105.

The Resource Center houses Museum offices, archival storage and research center, including a growing archive of over 9,000 photos, oral histories, newspapers and many other artifacts documenting the island’s history.

Research Request

The Museum can aid in searches for information on a person, place, event, or any other aspect of island history.

The archives are not open to the public, as research is done by volunteers and by appointment only. Please complete the form to request a resources search or to schedule an appointment.

Fees are assessed to carry out research requests, beginning at $25/hr., and results are NOT guaranteed. We will contact you if more than an hour of research time is required. The fee helps to offset costs as they relate to archival preservation.
