Resources

The Museum can aid those on a genealogical hunt or who are searching for information on an event, place, person, industry or other aspect of island history.

However, our resources are not unlimited, and we cannot guarantee that we will be able to provide the information you seek.

The volunteers and staff offer assistance and guidance in using the Museum’s collections, but requests take time to process.

Please contact us well in advance of your visit or information need so that we can help you most productively. Click this button to request assistance or to make an appointment.

The Etta Egeland Resource Center houses the Museum’s administrative offices and research materials. These include a growing photo archive of over 8,500 items, a collection of recorded interviews with islanders, newspapers, records, books, family files, and other items that document the island’s history and the the lives of its residents.
