Volunteer Opportunities

Hurrah for Volunteers !

Volunteers bring their energy, interests, talents, and commitment to the Museum. They are the reason the Museum is able to offer so many resources and services to the community and visitors.

You can help in so many ways!

Become a docent and welcome and orient Museum visitors. You’ll meet people from all over the U.S. and abroad.

Assist with the photo project, archives, and other clerical tasks. It’s a great way to discover fascinating information on the island’s history.

Join others to help with special exhibits and events at the Museum and, for example, at the log cabin at the fairgrounds.

Exercise those muscles as you participate in maintenance and construction projects. The Museum buildings are over a century old and require attention and care to keep them clean and in good repair.

Bring your people-and-communication skills to fundraising and marketing work. Helping keep the Museum financially sound brings the satisfaction of valuable community service.
